Breakfast in the Observatory Cafe with Tracey, Rory and Robin (Matt's Mum) and then a walk through the botanical gardens to downtown, and explored the Queen Victoria Market, which is a large bustling marketplace selling all sorts of things  - the food stalls were impressive - a wide range of delicatessens, butchers and fruit and veg stalls.

Also worth visiting is the Immigration Museum which tells the stories of how and why people came to Australia to live. Interesting to see how biased their policies were towards the British.

Good for have the photos of Botanical gardens - this was one of the ones we didnt see. Looks nice.
Whose policies were biased against the British??

The Australian immigration policies were very biased towards British immigrants, ie such that only english speakers could pass the assessment tests!
