. i really enjoyed our scene and i think it was for sure one of the better ones, even though they were all really good. but i'm just bias and i think that's okay! :D after all, it was my class for a month. friday morning all the teachers and staff met up again to clean up everything. we were done quickly though and had fun while cleaning all the cupboards and shelves and what not.. later in the afternoon we all met up at the shangri-la hotel downtown where we enjoyed high tea together.. it's like a supersize snack with lots of delicious tea. there were two buffets: a warm one and a dessert one. they even had a chocolate fountain! and they kept coming around with complimentary things. complimentary soup, sorbet, coffee, ice tea (but delcioius special ice tea), etc. it was amazing. a couple of us ended up going to a bar at the bay across from marina bay sands. good talks with awesome people and overpriced wine. wine is so expensive over here it's crazy. and of course you pay for the view too. today i celebrated my summer holidays at the pool doing nothing! :D aaah, life is wonderful! hehe.. i do have to start packing soon though need to figure out what i'm bringing with me and what can stay here for the next 4,5 weeks. that's right, time is flying! i will be home in five weeks thursday. call me silly but i'm very excited to come home. but also very glad that i'm taking the opportunity to travel around for a bit. i think it would be stupid for me not to.
oh, one last thing..
. our classes made us little booklets to say thank you and goodbye. it's sort of a tradition here i'm assuming. i've seen and heard about them being done for other teachers but i never ever would have expected receiving one myself! i almost cried in front of the kids. i was so touched. and i'm not exaggerating.. seriously, my eyes got all teary.. :D i can honestly say that this was the best internship ever. all my internships have been really good ones and i always got along so well with my praxis coaches and i'm truly truly grateful for that!!! but this internship has been just so amazing! i invested a lot in my teaching and the kids and it really really payed off in every way possible! i'm so proud of joel and me and so so so happy! :)
i hope that you are all doing well whatever you're doing and wherever you're doing it and i'm already excited to blog from other cities! :D yayayay!
wooohoo, can you believe it? i finished my fachpraktikum this week and am now after 17 weeks of working and studying hard officially on summer vacation! the last week of school was pretty cool. we had lots of rehearsals for the summer night event and very few lessons left so i didn't have to plan as much. nevertheless it was important to really make use of the time left. the class and i accomplished our goals though so it's all good. other than that i had a great week. on tuesday night joel and i went for dinner and a drink with our praxis coaches. we had dinner at this amazing place called p.s. cafe at dempsey hill. the view was gorgeous: rainforest almost all around the terrace. after that we went for drinks at the ku dé ta. the ku dé ta is a bar/lounge on the roof of marina bay sands hotel (aka. the ship). check out the pictures to get a load of the view! :D it's amaaaazing. then thursday night was the big night. SUMMER NIGHT EVENT! i was quite nervous for the kids but everything went really well and it was a success
