The rest of our time on Ko Phangan was fairly uneventful. We decided to skip out on Ko Samui to enjoy our beautiful beach and avoid the commercialism that everyone talks about when mentioning Samui. Our beach had 4 restuarants and 3 sets of bungalows. People paid quite a bit of money for day trips to our beach from the busy areas. There was also a waterfall in the area. Wendy and I frequented this peaceful place and appreciated a place to cool off with fresh water.

A typcial day would involve getting up around 10am, having a great, leisurely breakfast at Silvercliff with Wow (the owner and chef extrodinaire), heading to the waterfall to read and relax and then moving to the beach around 1:00pm when the boat loads of people would venture to the waterfall. It was excellent. We had Benji and Dom would were bascially ex-pats as company at some point during each day, either at the waterfall or for dinner. Life was fantastic.

We did have a day in Thong-Sala, which is the major town on the island. Wendy bought some fantastic dresses that I can't wait to rock out.... we did end up wearing them one night to our little restaurant that we eat at everyday. It was laundry day and since we had no clothes, I mean none, everything was in the wash, we decided to make a night of it and get all dolled up in the new dresses. Fun fun.

This continued for about a week more before it was time for another phase of the lunar cycle. The half-moon party contrasts the full moon party big time. Full moon is big with several different sound systems blaring different types of music on the beach. Half moon is smaller (but still big) with one sound system blaring in the jungle. Two very different scenes and I definately felt that Wendy and I needed to check this out.

Benji and Dom also decided they were up for a night out so we all got dolled up and drove into Haad Rin for some dinner. We were all very disappointed with our food despite paying more than I had for a meal in a long time. It was frustrating because all these restaurants in the main area have "the look" but can't produced half decent food. We went down to the beach for a few drinks after dinner and we happened upon a bar that had a giant flaming jump rope going. Wendy was all for it and I had been part of the jump rope club in grade 3, so I thought, 'It can't be that different, right?". It wasn't! We rocked that jump rope! It was hilarious. Wendy also took part in musical chairs and won a bucket with her ultra-competitive attitude. Well done! We ventured to the Half-moon location shortly after that and I will say that I liked the full moon a lot more but they aren't really comparable. We danced and danced and caused a ruckus. Wendy did lose her shoes which is kind of a running joke everywhere here in Thailand because everyone wears flip-flops when they go out. Dancing and flip-flops don't exactly mix so shoes come off very often and are stolen or 'mis-placed' often as well. Amusing. Wendy ended up going home with 3 different black flip-flops. Hee hee. Made it home by about 7am. Not a bad evening.

We were scheduled to leave the next morning but Wendy and I were in no states to get on a boat that morning so we opted one more day in Ko Phan-gan before moving to Ko Tao. This day, we did manage to make it to the waterfall for one more dip and then just chilled out at Silvercliff with Benji and then Dom joined us for our last night dinner. Going to miss these guys and the beach!
