Auckland - Stayed with Kerry (my nanny from when I was 0-2 years old) and her (now ex) boyfriend Tom. They were so generous and kind to me! I spent a loverly at Kohimarama Beach and got my first sunburn. Sad story actually because it was on my mid back, the only spot I can't reach on my own.... I'm working on that flexibility everyday.
Kerry and I then went to Waiheke Island for a great lunch at the Mudbrick Cafe and did some wine tasting. From there we headed to a very interesting art display called Sculptures in the Gulf. They use the land and modern objects to create magnificent pieces of art work every 2 years. It is a beautiful walk through the farm lands and along the coast of the Island. Very beautiful. That evening we went out and I met one of Kerry's brothers, Peter and Tom's friend Chris. They had already had 5 beers before we got there so it was a hoot to say the least. The next morning (Saturday) I got up early to catch the bus up to the Bay of Islands.
I spent 10 wonderful days on the North Island of New Zealand from Feb. 7th -17th. Stops included Auckland, Bay of Islands, Rotorua, Lake Taupo, Wanganui and Wellington. I stayed at some nice and some not so nice hostels. Met some cool people and had some fun.
