We headed to Circular Key for breakfast before mum and dad had to leave for their flight. Went with them to the train station and we all shed a little tear. I'm lying I shed a fair few! I had a couple of hours before I needed to check in for my flight to Auckland. Looked on google for where I would find some street art and caught a train to a place called Newtown.
Reminded me of Bristol a bit, nice vintage shops, little cafes, record shops and graffiti! Found a few nice pieces hidden about so worth the effort. Headed back to the centre to collect my bag from the hotel and catch my airport double decker train. Sad to leave Sydney, think I could live there. Hope to return again one day.
Flight to Auckland was only 3 hours, watched Avengers Assemble (wish I'd seem it on a big screen) and had some dinner. Quantas are great to fly with. My flight neighbour was a kiwi guy that looked like Santa - maybe it was him..
It was pretty late when I arrived so sadly couldn't see much. Got a shuttle to my hostel and checked in. 1am and the other 9 people in my dorm were asleep but somehow managed to get myself into a top bunk. Lying in the dark in a room with 9 strangers, in a new city and a country I've never been to before - it took me a while to get to sleep.. Tour begins tomorrow!
To note - am now 11 hours ahead of the UK. Loving that I'm in the future but annoying that it's more difficult to communicate. Was looking on a map, can't quite get my head around how far away I am or that it's been 7 weeks. Feels like 6 months at least!
