Hello all.
Well last day before I get to Melbourne and the weather is officially pants. It like a autumnal English morning, but what is really odd is that its still nice ( I know that makes no sense what so ever, but I know what I mean !!) I suppose the coast road and all the lush green scenery still looks fantastic even if it is covered with mist......
So, no walk this morning....hurrah.....up at 8am again.....boooo! I am so so so tired its mad. Not been sleeping now, well not properly anyway for the last 10 days or so, and felt a tad shattered this morning......
Spent a fair bit of time on the bus, getting on and off to look at some views and walked down a beach called Bells Beach ( Sharon, Keanu Reeves also walked down this beach in the film Breakpoint.....you impressed ?)
Got into Melbourne about half 12, said goodbye to everyone, swapped details then headed into the city with Erika to find a Starbucks as by this time Erika needed a fix after spending 4 days without coffee. Had a bit of a goss over cake....as you do then, said goodbye to Erika and walked like what seemed like hours to find the yha. The weather forecast was rain later but apparently the weather can change quite quickly so was keeping fingers crossed it stayed ok.....it didn't, but more on that later.
The yha is supposed to be a 10 min walk out of the city. It is a 10 min walk if you walk like an Olympic athlete, of which I so dont especially looking like a hero in a halfshell(turtle power !!) with a rucksack on my back.....it took at least half an hour so was a grumpy old thing by the time I got there.
Got there, dumped stuff, walked back into the city to do some shopping and look at the sights. Got lost in the city itself, I blame the road signs, or should I say lack of them. I have soo lost the will to live with the shopping, I didn't find any shoes ( so saved money I suppose ??) found Tiffany's but decided that I didn't need anything ( saved even more money ) Sharon got you a fridge magnet - you will be a happy girlie !! and got some bits for Dan and Charlie.
Then the rain came......and came......and came......and I had flip flops( sorry when in Oz, thongs on !!) so wet feet.....nice.....not. It teamed down so much so that even though I managed to get the tram back I was soaked through to my underwear and my cargo trousers were wet up to the knee........I have had the odd really bad homesick moment, I have felt lonely on the odd occasion, but this on top of being soo soo tired really took the biscuit.....I could have cried to be honest.
Still it could only get better can it not ??? Yep of course it can, have only 1 night here, then Mels with fluffy towels....mmmmm....lovely, then back Sunday for one night before back to Lesleys. The people in the shared dorm will be fine, will have a laugh and no doubt will be able to look back on getting drenched in days to come and will laugh.......not on your life.
I am staying in a room with a nutter.......She kept me up till 1 in the morning telling me her whole life story. Mind you, the more time I spent awake the less time she had to murder me I suppose......she was soo intense, it was scary. Still I am alive, and here to tell the tale in a drama queen stylie of course ha ha ha.
Love to everyone at home.
