In South Pasadena the host mum had another swimming comp - she had one yesterday but we were all out, we chilled out at home for a bit. Despite being car manager Scott made no attempt to print off directions in order to travel to Aliso Viejo - I then decided to do it myself. We picked up Joe at Newport beach - he had been out there the previous night and was a bit worse for wear. We then headed straight to Aliso, we arrived there a few hours early so decided to go to the shops - we found a mall but it wasn't the best. We then headed back to camp where we met the other coaches - there are 9 coaches in total and 4 are girls which is weird as we haven't had many girl coaches on our camp at all - just Abi the previous week. The housing situation kept chopping and changing but we finally got there - I was meant to be with Ashleigh again and then they decided I should be on my own before finally deciding I will be sharing with this girl called Lauren. Our hot family were out so we had to go to another host families house until 8 oclock, this family were having a BBQ, so I couldn't complain. We then headed off to our host families house once we could get into contact, we are staying in a mansion - the family consists of Bill, Mary their daughter Kammi and their son who is currently away at the moment but shall be returning on Wednesday - he plays ice hockey at a high standard - he was in the junior Anaheim Ducks team. We then chilled out and chatted before heading to bed.
In the morning I found it weird how my right foot was so stiff - I didn't realise the severity till later. We then arrived at the camp nice and early I was assigned 12 5 year old kids. The kids kept me on my toes all day and gradually my ankle kept getting worse. I think I must have been so preoccupied I spent all my time ushering the kids around and not caring for myself by topping up on water. It wasn't till I was signing out the kids that I felt a bit dizzy and my vision was going - I tried to keep it together but then some of the parents started to notice so they made me sit down and they gave me a drink of Powerade - Lauren had to sign the rest of my kids out. I then felt better so we went to Nicoles house whilst she got ready before hitting our house and grabbing some lunch and getting ready before hitting the beach. We then picked up the boys and headed down to Laguna beach. We then sunbathed by the beach for a couple of hours - the beach was packed so we had to sit right next to people playing volleyball. I was going crazy drinking water again, we then walked over to Ralphs as the girls needed to pick up some drink, I must have stood too long and suddenly I started feeling dizzy again, I then decided to sit outside on the pavement- whilst Lauren picked up the car and picked me up. At this point I decided to notice my ankle was becoming very large as well - I am an absolute mess today. Once I got back I had a shower before having a lie down for a couple of hours - I didn't want to wake up!! When I finally got up I was treated to tea which was tri tip - you can only buy it over here - its a type of steak. The family then decided to head down to the gym - I decided to follow them but not join in the gym like LA fitness was amazing. Me and Mary sat down and watched the others play basketball and then we went outside and sat by the fire until everyone else was done.
On the Tuesday my ankle appeared worse, I struggled to move about at camp and I could feel my feet gradually widening. Once back home I decided I wouldn't go to the beach despite them deciding to chill at home for a bit and go to the beach at 3. I then rested until the others came back, once back Kammi's summer school teacher arrived so Kammi stayed with her whilst I went to the doctors with Bill. It was a lot quicker than I thought it was going to be as I was in and out within an hour, the only problem was having to fill in all the paperwork. The whole visit set me back $150, I was given two sets of antibiotics. We then headed back home whilst I chilled out, Bill decided we would head to San Clemente as he didn't want me to miss out in all the fun. Bill gave us a tour around the area and showed me the local coastline. We then met Mary at this mexican restaurant - I had chimi changas which were very nice. We then went for an ice cream and we were going to have a look at a clothes shop however it was closed. We then headed back home and all called it an earlyish night after a while as we were tired.
On Wednesday I chilled out at home all day after camp which seemed to drag today at the start. The other guys headed off shopping in Laguna beach. Me and Kammi watched rubbish tv including a programme about the best pies in the US called Pie Paradise, meet the Kardashians and worst of all I-Carly - didn't think things could get worse - I can't spend another day indoors. The only form of exercise I got today was chasing the dog around when he nicked my sock out of my pocket - he even hid under the table - Iater found he also tore up one of my knickers which he somehow managed to find despite them being at the bottom of my bag - can't say I will miss the dog once I leave. The family son Drew then arrived back from school so I spoke to him as everyone else was out. Bill had to go out as he is on the local committee he used to be the mayor of the town. Me, Drew, Lauren and Kammi then went into Irvine to the shopping centre and had something to eat at Wahoo's- another Mexican place. We then headed home we were talking about watching a film but everyone was tired. Me Kammi and Drew then watched this programme, Outrageous Childrens parties where this kid was treated to a 30K party after graduating from pre school. We then noticed outside there was some bob cats in our back garden which we found unusual.
On the Thursday after camp we chilled out at the house before Drew drove me, Lauren, Nicole and Kammi to Newport beach where they planned to go paddleboarding and kayaking. When we reached Newport I decided it was probably not best to join in as I could do more damage to my feet. I then went for a walk around the shops and chilled out on the beach before heading back to the rental place. One back we then headed home and had a BBQ for dinner before me and Drew then headed to to golf driving range. I took a while to get into it - my pitching was very bad but I mananged to drive the ball around 150 yards or more on about 6-7 occassions. We ended up splitting a large bucket of balls - Drew even admitted I was better than him at driving - he has only took it up this summer.
On the Friday we had our last day of camp which is always hectic, the boys were playing up again so I had to make two of them sit out as they were talking over the top of me so no one could hear. After camp me, Bill, Kammi, Lauren and Nicole went to this sandwich shop and had a steak sandwich. We then chilled at home awaiting our next camp which hadn't popped up it wasn't till 3 when we found out - most of the fall people haven't got a camp this week despite being promised them. I am going to Palos Verdes which is a very nice area whilst Ashleigh has been told she has to get a flight on Sunday to Chicago where she will spend 2 weeks before fall. I then used the usual trick saying I need to buy some more toiletries so headed to the shops and picked up the family some chocs and flowers. We then went round to Mary's hospital to pick her up from work - she is a mid wife, she then gave me a tour of the area and a free body balance wrist band. We then headed back home and packed some more. Mary and Kammi then dropped me off at Nicole's house as I had originally thought Lauren was leaving for somewhere else but she didn't in the end, Ashleigh ended up having to stay at her house too so we chilled out for a bit there. We then headed round to Duncans for a bit with everyone before then going to the BBQ at Mary's house - I coached one of her sons. We then went to the BBQ - the same place we had it on Sunday the food was so good we had steaks sausages and for dessert - Cheesecake!!!! We then headed back to Duncan's - I had to sleep on the couch, it was hard to get to sleep as the family cat kept purring but it sounded more like a lawn mower luckily it stopped after a while and I could get to sleep.
On the Saturday I chilled out at Duncan's home and waited for the rest of them to come back from camp. It wasn't till 4.30 that we actually left the house despite wanting to head to Huntington beach to meet the other girls at 3 oclock. We finally arrived and parked up around 5.30, we then met the other girls - Sarah, Speedy, Cindy and Lindsay were down as well as the scottish girls. We had to do some video shots to entice more women into the uk set up so we had to do a quick film outlying our name, where you live and your position. We then did a couple more active shots like a game of beach soccer - I stayed away with my club foot. We then spoke about what we thought could be improved as everyone agrees the girls don't get much of a say within each cluster. We then went to Sharkies for tea - we were even treated to music by this person in the streets playing his guitar - I wouldn't sign up for X-factor if I was him. After the meal we said bye to those who had to be up early the next day and then headed down to Newport and to the Motel 6 as everyone was going out. As I was the only person underage I had to have a party for one in my room woop woop - I am currently writing this atm and can't wait for everyone to come back and wake me up lol. We were meant to be sharing a room between a few of us but now it is 7 of us and 2 double beds, so this may be interesting.
I would be surprised if I ended up getting a minutes worth of sleep as Rhona and Lauren snored all night. We all found getting up at 5am very difficult in order to drop Ashleigh off at the airport as it was a bit of a drive. We arrived at the airport in good time, Nicole had to keep opening the car window and blaring her music just so she could stay awake when driving. Me and Nicole were then clueless what we were going to do to pass the time, we were running low on petrol so we had to put some money in as there was no money on the gas cards - we think the boys used all the money for there 2 cars despite having to split it - I realised early on they were very devious, hopefully we will get a refund for the petrol. Nicole phoned one of her old host families and asked was it ok to chill at theres as it was on the way to Redlands where we had to drop the car off. This family were heading down to San Diego for the day so we chilled out and had breakfast with them, the girls were crazy they were showing us how there rabbit could dance and everything lol. The mother took pity on us when we were falling almost falling asleep playing uno so she said did we want to go for a lie down. It felt like the best sleep of my life as it was really needed we didn't even hear them leave, about 2 hours later we then decided to hit the road and head down to Redlands. We arrived there and had to wait quite a while for Nick our driver to pick us up. I didn;t mind having to wait as we got to meet up with Duncan and Tom from the first week and Jack who we left behind after South Pasadena.
Nick later arrived so we drove down to the camp and passed through LA on the way. We arrived at the camp and were greeted by 19 other coaches - this is the largest camp they have ever had. There are two other girls on this camp one is from Scotland and the other is an American. We were told every child needs a ball so we had to pump up 200 balls between us lol. At 6 our host family came to pick us up the mother Lisa and Penny arrived. We were shocked when we turned up and found 3 other kids Payton - who is Penny;s twin they are 10, Kelsey who is 5 and the youngest Kallen who is 5 1/2 months old. There is also the dad Mark and Lisa's mate was down to she is from South Pasadena - it was a squeeze getting everyone in at dinner. We chilled out before calling it an early night.
