food...beach...quad bikes...cocktails...food...MY LIFE IS SO HARD!!
our first night here we were up at 2am...the air con wasn't working and as well as not being able to breathe we were making detailed plans on how we would viciously and with great prejudice maim the people next door (and their dog) who were singing loudly with no end in sight (it was actually saturday night and it was a live music club, literally under our balcony)...they're still alive, the dogs are cute, and the air con is ok, so life went back to being good after a couple of coffees on sunday morning
there is literally nothing to do here, but we've tried really hard (coz we are true go-getters deep, deep down)...we are trying different restaurants every evening and alternating between having a late lunch and dinner, to having no lunch, cocktails, then an early dinner...tonight's choice was late lunch, cocktails, and a late dinner...it's really difficult juggling all these details
we hired QUAD BIKES...so much fun! it took us all 15 mins or so to not be scared of them, but after that we all agreed we'd be keeping them for 2 days...we drove to the port town, which was cute but we are glad we aren't staying there, and also attempted to go to some archaeological site on the far north of the island - then realised it's 35km away and we couldn't be bothered, so we went to the beach and got massages
i think i will have fish tonight...fish, to go with my salad with naxos sour ricotta, saganaki fried cheese, and whatever other 5 or so appetizers we all decide we HAVE to try...last night's so-very-awesome dinner was 51EU for 3 people, including wine, and we were all stuffed to bits...it's almost like the universe requires me to eat as much as possible, like it's a debt i have to pay for being able to go on this holiday with my mates
