Apologies for the long delay in a new and exciting update but we have been traversing canyons and looking round monasteries for the last few days, not to mention visiting Macchu Pichu and other Inca ruins before that (which seems like a lifetime ago now...)
Since our last entry we`ve travelled a fair bit... You┤ll have to look at the photos for a summary of all our activities in Peru, but the highlight so far has been the three day trek in the Colca Canyon, staying in mud huts and with Vanessa singing to Se˝or Donkey whilst climbing up the canyon at 2.30am. It was a surreal experience drinking coca tea half way up a canyon with the local guide pointing out the Milky Way and Venus - but well worth it (and a damn sight better value than Macchu Pichu at only $40 for three days!!)
For the last couple of days we have been chilling out in a desert oasis village in a lovely hotel with the pool to ourselves and a good book....
Before that we stopped off in Nazca briefly to see the Nazca Lines, which are a series of mainly animal designs in the desert (think similar to crop circles but older) which originate from the Nazca period in about 200 B.C. Nobody really knows why they are there..... but it was very cool on a little 4 seater aeroplane, and we┤re still alive (which is always a bonus)....
We┤re off to Ecuador tomorrow - its fair to say we┤ve had enough of Peru now... Lets hope a new country brings us more luck and less theft.....
Chao chao chicos!!
Lots of love to you all
P.S. Burley - please do me a favour and get a certain someone in as the new CAFC manager - you know you want to
P.P.S Please give me a free season ticket. Thanks in advance ;-)
