Sunday 25th January - Day 12 - At Sea
We are now on our first full day at sea the sky was blue the seas were relatively calm so all seemed well. We followed our normal routine in the morning, in that after breakfast, which once again we had in the buffet as the dining room was closed because they were trying out a new event at 10.30am and hosting a Sunday Brunch (minus the usual champagne you would expect to be served!) - we went to the 'Bridge' lecture this time the topic was on 'Balanced Bids' followed by Nick enjoying a bit of R&R on the Spa sun deck whilst I went to the gym. At 12.30pm we ventured down to the dining room along with numerous other passengers to enjoy the Sunday Brunch. The dining room was somewhat crowded and although as we were seated we were given menus no one explained the format, in that some items could be ordered off the menu, whilst others you went and helped yourself to - we were somewhat surprised at this, as the procedures were still in place throughout the rest of the ship, which had been implemented at the beginning of the outbreak of the Norwalk virus. After lunch it was off to a lecture given by a former Concorde Pilot, Les Evans, who spoke for an hour on the 'Magic' of Concorde telling us about the design and speed it traveled at, the glamour, the service, the type of passengers who utilized Concorde and the advanced technology used in flying this aircraft. It was then time to put into practice what I had learnt the previous day about the 'Travelpod' web site, so it was back to the cabin where I spent some time uploading the information, however at the end I felt a sense of satisfaction knowing that from now on our friends and relations could share our travel experiences with us. After dinner this evening we were entertained by an English singer, Annette Yeo who has previously starred in Les Miserables, Phantom of the Opera and Mama Mia, singing a wide range of songs not only the shows she has starred in but also a number of renditions of her own - excellent.
