We are really starting to like Sri Lanka after our initial bad experience. We went diving today. We took a 18-20 ft. motor boat out into the ocean about 15 km from shore. It was quite a rough ride given that we were in such small boat. There were about 6 other small fishing boats where we were diving so we avoided them. The dive was OK with fair visibility and not much reef but there were many schools of fish including moray eels, lion fish, flounder and many more. It was great to be able to dive again as it has been nearly 6 months. We also did two deep dives to 23 meters which we had only been that deep once before. During our surface interval we were on the small boat in choppy water and Nick got sea sick. He was not happy about that as he has never been sea sick before. To park the boat when returning they told us to brace ourselves and ran the boat full speed up the steep shoreline. It was quite the parking job. Afterwards Nick helped move the boat back into parked position, as you can see in the photo.
