Where I stayed
Hello from Byron Bay,
Had a quiet day yesterday, trying to organise our plan of action for the rest of Australia. Got up early and did an amazing drive from the Blue Mountains to Newcastle. Had lunch on the beach and then had a nap! Turns out Newcastle is a little bit quiet and so there was't really anything to do. Amy thrashed me at cards, but I think she was cheating at her made up game, 'sevens'.
Set off from Newcastle ready for a long drive up north. Got to a little town called Port Macquerie where we decided to stop for lunch. We stumbled across the 'Billabong Wildlife and Koala Breeding Park' and went in to explore. Turned out to be fab, as we fed some Kangaroos and stroked some koalas! Amy nearly died from cuteness overload when she got to feed a baby wallaby from it's 'mummy's' pouch and stroke a baby Koala.
Carried on driving all afternoon and got to Byron Bay late. We're staying in another hostel tonight! It seems a very hostelly hostel. i.e. smelly students and grubby kitchens, but the rooms clean, so we're good.
If the weather's nice enough we're going to go surfing in the morrow (swim and splash next to a board!), and go for a long walk on the beach.
Will keep you informed,
Speak soon

Sounds absolutely fab! Don't forget the "ticks in groins" advice they gave at Cooberry Park!!! All well here - hot, hot, hot and some stress with a hire car that wouldn't start but hey ho! Keep on having fun and take care. Love MUMxxx
