Hello!

Had a really good couple of days, which have been jam-packed. Had out first night in our swish hotel in Sydney. Got up bright and early at 6am (thanks again Amy) and went from a swim in the pool and a sweat in the steam room and sauna, on the 22nd floor. Had breakfast and then went to explore Sydney. Walked to Darling Harbour, and went to the Sydney Wildlife center, where Amy got to stroke a kangaroo and watch a koala scratch itself. Amy was particularly impressed with the sizeable gonads on the kangaroos.

After, we walked to Old Sydney and had an explore, walked around circular quay and then to the Opera House. We then walked back the Harbour Bridge, and climbed all the way over the top. Got some fantastic photos of us freezing our nuts off on the top of the bridge, which we will upload soon-ish!

Went to East Sydney last night for some dinner. Went to a pretty dodgy looking bar, where I had the most amazing steak I've ever had and it was only $16!!!

Today, we had a lazy morning and checked out of the hotel. We then drove up into the Blue Mountains, which is stunning. We’re staying in our first HOSTEL of the trip and it’s great! (can you tell it’s me and not Amy writing this blog?) Very cosy, but vely, vely cold. Staying in a little town called Katoomba, which couldn’t be more Australian if it tried. Drove down to Echo Point, which has the most amazing views of the Blue Mountains and the Three Sisters, it’s like something from a postcard.

It was really cold in Sydney, but it’s even colder up in the mountains. Amy’s got her thermals on (and her gloves, wooly hat and ear muffs). Sexy, I know. Amy’s eager to head up north as quickly as possible, where it’s warmer, so that’s the plan for tomorrow…

Speak Soon

Love,

Nick and Amy, (now true travelers after our first hostel experience) xxxx

Sounds great. Which hotel were you in? Up north you'll be able to visit real okker pubs. Casual wear is a T shirt. Formal wear is a clean T shirt.

A steak even better than Gaucho? Surely not!! Get some photos up you pair of lazy gits. Enjoy your drive oop north. In a rapid turn to normality it is currently raining across the entire UK - very jealous. So jealous of you in fact I'm glad you're cold!!
