We've had a pretty good opening day today, after breakfast we checked out some shops including the Canucks team store, Footlocker, Roots and Levi's as well as an assortment of Souvenir shops. We then walked down to the massive BC arena and around to the Rogers arena before heading toward the harbour to get a nice view of nearby Granville Island.

We've also met some interesting 'characters' including a man who randomly told Faye where to get some drugs as we waited at a crossing, he was very obviously high, secondly quite a scary looking black dude who approached us and said: "Can I ask you a question?". We decided not to stop and kept going. We've also seen an assortment of homeless people including a guy dancing and taking stuff from the bins of the apartment opposite, and another who had a sign saying he had HIV and was hungry who seemed to be praying, thirdly a black lady in a wheelchair, who had facial scars and a raindow coloured patchy hairdoo. Very bizarre. We closed our morning in Starbucks where I had an awful mocha and Faye and Mike enjoyed a tea, on a way back we checked some more shops and then headed back to the hotel.

Mike and I also found time to check out the hotels fitness suite, and get a workout in. It went pretty well, it wasnt as good as my gym but still pretty good, I'm in a bit of pain at the moment as my right shoulders a little painful, although i'm not sure. Hopefully given some time and rest it'll be ok.

We just finished a bit of an underwhelming dinner at our hotels restaurant which for me and Mike pretty much consisted of some meats. Fruit and cheese. Not overly filling and probably a little bit posh for our palettes.

Right now, we're just relaxing watching the Canucks play on tv in our rooms, tomorrow we'll be at the game which should be cool.
