So, i've officially started my journey to France and right now i'm in Iceland on one of icelandair's stopovers. It's currently 4 in the morning(timezone change can't sleep) and I am waiting for the bus to take me the airport. I've only been here a few days but have had a total blast. I got to swim in the Blue Lagoon which was always on my bucket list. I didn't get to do some of the other things I wanted to do like seen northern lights or ATV because it is quite expensive here. But I did manage to partake in some icelandic traditions such as eating shark(repugnant smell) or swimming. Now believe it or not iceland isn't super cold(nor warm) but as it is under lots of lava there exists a plethora of hot springs, those of which iceland both uses to power 99 percent of their electricity and warm water but also uses to make hundreds of large swimming pools. It was incredibly relaxing to go to a heated pool swim some laps go down there variety of giant water slides and soak in their saunas. To really put the iceing on the cake a giant music festival called airwaves is here right now. I spent the majority of yesterday hanging out with some new spanish friends listening to music from iceland and all over the world!
