Well we woke up nice and early in Marrakech and called a driver who preceded to take drive us three hours to Essaouira. We struck up a real nice conversation with him and he managed to teach us alot about the islamic moroccan world. About two hours into the trip we stopped to see something quite strange. In a remote place in the middle of the dessert a special type forest grew. I can't remember the name of the tree but I remember it was the only place on earth where this type of tree was. In these trees herds of goats had some how managed to climb up into and were eating the berries. We got out and were allowed to hold some of the baby goats and take pictures of the adult goats in the trees. The herdsmen told us that this goat meat was some of the most expensive in all of morocco and that the berries from the trees had many purposes and that there was a sanctuary for women up the road where they made different products from the juices. We went there to visit and saw 20 women lined up on the floor working hard to extract small amounts of this valuable berries juice. It was quite a sight.

After the dessert forest we continued until we arrived in Essaouira where we were greeted by a man who escorted us to our hotel. A lovely french owned place that overlooked the ocean. We only spent two nights here and mostly did some talking and walking around. We did however manage to have a camel ride on the beach which was very nice even though two caretakers of the camels got in a fight arguing over us. It was a nice tranquil way to end the trip in Essaouira and I enjoyed my time in morocco over all.
