We stayed at the Laughing horse lodge in the centre of Port Aransas.
This place is one of the most eclectic places I've stayed for a while and Port A (as it is called by the locals) is full of people who arrived in the 60's for 2 weeks and didn't leave. To get to the island just north of Corpus Christi you take a short car ferry and then once on the island the vibe noticebly changes. The first clue that this place is not quite your average US seaside town is the mode of transportation favoured by the locals - a golf car. Of course we had to get one - a 6 seater - and it wasn't long before we were cruising around and town and down the beach ouselves. We spent a loverly 3 days here some highlights included:
Fishing of Port Aranses pier
Chris's craw fish boil
Kayak fishing
Picking up a life jacket for a 'dollar' at the lesbian garage sale
Macca picking up a fishing rod for a dollar at the same garage sale
Driving on the beach
Port A is definatly A OK - I know sorry!!!
