So on the phone in the Botanical gardens we had to check out flights and managed to book one for 6pm today. Pretty cheaply actually. Quite happy because means 12 hours less travelling time than the coach, perfect.
We tried to have a little lie in which isn't easy when the phone will not stop ringing with Happy New Year messages. Both of us were really happy to hear from everyone though. Nic got a special call from all of her girlfriends. Which she loved!
We gathered our stuff together and said our goodbyes to Clara. We made our way into the city and had a last look at the Opera House and Harbour Bridge. Pretty sad to be leaving Sydney but happy to be on our way to Melbourne.
We arrived at 6.30pm and instantly struck by the drop in temperature. For the first time since being in Oz we felt cold! We hopped on the sky bus to Southern Cross station where Bonnie picked us up.
Bonnie's brother, Rufus, Julia (sister in law) and 16 month old niece (Henrietta) were staying at Bonnie's apartment too. So we also got the chance to meet some of her family and we had a lovely meal together. Great start to Melbourne!
