We thought we were so ahead of the camper under a tree, we wont be woken by the scorching heat this time, or so we thought.... Instead we had parked under the most popular tree in the whole of Queensland for the local birds, the Lorikeet. We were awoken to the screeching sound of their "singing." Not happy! They are beautiful birds, blue, green and red just like a parrot, but we didn't think they were quite so beautiful at 5am!

Noosa Marina was our first stop for the day. They had a market on in the marina with crafts, jewellery etc etc. We both went off and got each other a few xmas pressies and then had coffee on the terrace by the water. The pelicans kept us entertained going for the fish the local fishermen were catching. What a great way to spend a sunday morning.

Moved onto Noosa Heads, the main town. Parking was an absolute nightmare. We circled around and around before we managed to get a spot. Unfortunately the parking was only an hour, but this was enough for us to walk up their main shopping street, Hastings Street. A gorgeous town with lots of sophistication. Endless assortment of ice cream shops, coffee shops, restaurants, bars and clothing shops. Poor Shelley and Nic are finding it very hard to carry on walking past this shops without going in. Anyone that knows us knows that we love to shop!

After a spot of lunch, we jumped in the hippie very excited that the one thing we had allowed ourselves to buy was an ipod dock. At last we would have tunes....so we thought. We proceeded to plug the ipod in and off we went. However we only heard the faint sound of a dance tune, we need volume!!! This was not going to happen, the speakers were crap.

Turned the hippie around and exchanged them for some other speakers, after making them test them in the shop. Great we can be on our way. But hold on, no we can't! Once back in the hippie we realised that the speakers were actually only mains powered, no battery power for us. So once again we went back into the shop to exchange them. They must have hated us. Did manage to eventually get some that worked, no we have tunnage! What are we like?? Maybe Louie was right when he described us as 'maltesers,' brunnette on the outside and blonde on the inside!

Tunes on, singalong time. A gorgeous drive through the wilderness of The Great Sandy National Park.

We arrived at Hervey Bay 3 hours later. We could not believe what we had arrived to. Absolute s***hole! Greeted us with lots of industrial estates, not a very impressive town or beach. Silver lining being the campsite was the best we have stayed at. They were really friendly and they helped us book our tour to Fraser Island tomorrow.....
