Hello again all. Sloooowly getting this thing updated!
Our second stop in Malaysia was the Island state of Penang. We were her for 7 nights. Main priority here was to chill out & do as little as possible...and we pretty much succeeded in that.
Hotel was great with awesome pool area where I dominated the V-ball net all week(just as well as you couldnt swim in the sea due to jelly fish...nice). But the highlight had to be happy hr everyday by the pool from 5 - 7 with 1/2 price drinks. I think we both got through the whole cocktail list a few days after arriving =)
As you can see from the pics, we both took advantage of the "watersports" (get your mind out of the gutter Adam) & both went parasailing which was amazing & I also had a bit of a jet-ski.
We also hired a car for a day to explore the rest of the island, hoping to find a seclude (safe) beach, which after a bit of bush bashing & our car practically attacked by wild monkeys (anyone seen outbreak?) there were no other beaches to be found. It wasn't a complete waste though, at least we knew we weren't missing out on anything while we were sucking back pina coladas.
On the street out front of our hotel were night markets & heaps of different places to eat more delicious , cheap food. We even had the opportunity to toke on one of those ethnic pipe thingys, which ended in disaster after I knocked the thing flying off the chair & it smashed into 1000 pieces with water running through the restaurant (thats strong sh*t =). If people weren't looking at us already, they certainly were now! Polly & I both agree that this was the single most embarrassing experience in our lives!
We also spent a night out in the capital, Georgetown, where we took advantage of being able to buy a vodka bottle & get free mixers all night, though the "entertainment" was interesting.
Next stop Kota Kinabalu....
