WE went to San Juan only for a day to see its strange moonlike landscape. it was pretty cool certainly different. we ended up at a massive but empty beach resort. it was a lake really as we were so far inland but they had made it look like a beach. we are now in low season here and it was mid week so the place was like a ghost town (or beach) which we had all to our selves.
it was baking hot and with out any supplies with us we started to get a bit worried about getting some water. there was this cool guy who worked there all alone and he drove a bout 10km to get us a sandwich and bottle of water each and he wanted to give us our change back (it was not much but we insisted he kept it). another really nice chap we have met.
after San Juan we have now arrived in Tucuman we are heading higher and the weather here sucks it is probably worse than back home. its cold grey and wet.we did manage to get a small zoo yesterday to see some native SA animals of special note were the mountain cats which were beautiful oh and ofcourse the Zoros.
with the sad news of the pope passing the town has closed down as a sign of respect. so we are really just waiting here for our bus to arrive tonight.
When we arrive in Salta we hope to do activities that provide some excercise to start shifting some podge.
