I've heard some rumours that the notification email hasnt worked but I'm hoping it does this time...
I've had a great couple of days. I went to the Victoria Falls Hotel on Friday night for a buffet which was brilliant. They had so many different types of meat - I tried Crocodile, Osterrich and few others (can't remember what they were though - I've been drinking since then!). The Hotel itself was by far the nicest, poshest and generally most amazing hotel I have ever seen - it was absolutely gigantic and was full of marble floors and African decorations.
I woke up early yesterday morning for a Rhino trek which was such a good experience. I went across into Zambia and the trek itself took place in Mosi Ou Tunya Park(heard of it? Didnt think so.....). There was only me and a Dutch couple being taken around by the guides and we were able to get so close to the Rhino. Apparently they can't see further than 20 metres in front of them which was a relief! I had my first snake encounter here as well which made me shriek like a five year old girl - when it turned out to be a snake skin though I felt a bit silly! We also saw Zebras, Antelope, monkeys, baboons and we saw a female elephant as we drove across the park at the end of the tour. They gave us breakfast as well next to the Zambezi which was pretty darn nice.
After the trek I went back to the camp and had a quick lie down before I walked to the Victoria Falls. It really was breathtaking and I could have stared at it for hours. All told I probably walked about 10-12 miles yesterday so I felt pretty tired when I got back to the camp.
We went back to the buffet again last night and then on to the Victoria Falls Casino. I started off by getting 4000 Zimbabwean dollars changed into chips - before you ask what I was thinking that is the equivelent of about 2 pounds! I ended up playing roulette for an hour and walked away with a nice tidy profit of 15,500 Zim dollars. I was proud of myself! Unfortunately I went a bit crazy at the bar and spent the lot - Southern Comfort was calling out to me!
I woke up with an annoying hangover this morning and it really isn't muc fun having a hangover in Africa where it is really hot, the water tastes horrible (but its safe to drink dont worry) and I havn't managed to stop sweating since the moment I arrived.
Thankfully I have my helecopter ride to look forward to which leaves in just over an hour. After that we are all going on cruise on the Zambezi where all drinks are included in the price! I'm in a world of trouble!
I leave Vic falls in the morning where we set off for Botswana. I doubt I will get the chance to update this for a while because I will be out of towns for the next few days as we have Chobe National Park and the Okavango Delta to look forward to.
