As a freelancer, you get odd hours and days off.
Only recently returning from my trip to Montauk with Katie from work, I took a train outta Penn Station up the Hudson River last Thursday night, spending a few days in New York's Catskill Mountains & then New Hampshire, before driving back to the city with my mom (who has been here all month) this morning.

My mom's family is still living in the north east where she grew up, despite her having moved to Florida before I was born. Staying in the country, they live in beautiful homes designed and built themselves (with family's help) on scenic land, we Floridians are fortunate to enjoy a piece of every time we visit. (In exchange we offer Disney World, alligators and pavement/parking lots.)

These are a collection of pictures taken around my aunt and uncle's home in New Hampshire where we spent most of our time this past week.

Their house is a haven for beautiful photography.
Raising chickens and quail on their property for egg sales at their local farmer's market, there's always something going on in their backyard. Just being outside there, zooming my camera into moss clad soil, crumbling brick work, or their backyard pond (searching for beaver or a moose), was an enormous pleasure. Too bad I just didn't have my camera on hand when we found the bridge filled with moccasin snakes underneath :p

A beautiful trip with family I'm extremely special to call my own.

An update:
Tide may be turning back out to sea, delicately meaning some heavy changes are coming! I can't put them into published predictions as things mostly change without your control or consent (at least in my life), but I have an idea of what's happening and I'm quite excited about it all.
And it's right on time.
