Best day yet at CNN, and this time, it probably really was.

Found/pitched at least 4 stories today, but unable to report on them all, just got one completed (one I'm assigned to finish tomorrow, the others were taken on by other departments or bureaus).
I don't know what was doing it, but they were falling into my lap.

Here's the one I got out tonight, with a cute little intro I managed (I thought I'd have to text my witty sister to help me):
http://www.cnn.com/2011/US/02/09/district.of.columbia.person.cargo.hold/

- Other was video of an Ohio mother caught driving drunk by her two kids
- Another in Ohio on health I'll report on tomorrow
- and then Ford filed a suit today to sue Ferrari (discovered too late in the evening. "rats")

Tied to this, being a member of the press, I applied today for press access to both Ford and Ferrari ^_^ (should do others but this is actually b/c of the story) You have to register yourself and they say they may do a professional background check to make sure you are legit. Excited! <- in being judged as someone worth receiving (and I am, as I needed their press page to make a report)

Ferrari Media Site:
"This is an information site for journalists and offers access to all of the Ferrari press releases as well as a database of images of company and sports events the road cars and the racing cars. Electronic version of the brochures and press kits are also available on the site. However the Media Site is only open to journalists accredited by the press office and is accessed using a user name and password."
We'll see if I'm (my personally written pitch/resume) even accepted ;)

Other positive news,

Day after tomorrow I'm flying home!!!!
So when you're feeling so high and lucky, especially after such a fantastic day on the news desk and you know the following days will only get better, something's bound to go wrong, right?
And I assumed as much when I entered the control room to prompt tonight ... but when the prompter freaked out and everyone screamed and yelled, at the end of the program, boss actually said, "I know you weren't responsible for that."
Wowzers.
So you'd THEN expect on my midnight walk home from work to have something go wrong... (yes, I didn't take a cab).
Yet I made it home perfectly safe and fine. No issue besides my ears being a bit too cold. (It was actually warmer tonight than when I walked in at noon.)

Perhaps I'm just due for a good year. Perhaps, I'm finally where I'm suppose to be -- compared to the struggle I had trying to be just a bit further south.

As Grant reported on FB today, several months after being laid off by Toyota, he has received three job offers, finally! And all at the same time. He's actually had to turn two offers down!
One of his friends commented on this status update that it shows how the economy is improving...

Grant described the case as, "when it rains, it pours."

I whole heartedly clicked *like* to that. Feels like what's happening right here :) and I will keep riding it until it breaks ...as all waves do... and then I'll have a few mopey drinks with Kate, before charging back into work ...as I have continued to do. (Kate certainly knows haha)
