How you can tell the difference between the French and the Americans:
- French have & wear pressed/ironed everything (...that means socks, underwear, towels, and pillowcases)

- Americans have burned hands from doing all this ironing
(It's either, "Oh, you pay in euros? I happen to be available." Or, "I'm an Au Pair")

- Americans have burned mouths as impatient eaters
(haven't had a day yet where my mouth isn't a smidge hurting)

Another night of 4 hours of sleep. It's bringing me down! Too cold here and... missing something else, I think. Perhaps it's my snowflake pajama pants... who knows.

Yesterday was my first day of classes in St German. It's a neighboring town, several train stops away -- takes me about an hour to get to via train and bus or walking. Crazy. But it's beautiful. Please see my pictures of the castle, gardens, and the spectacular view.
Just this weekend I returned to it for the afternoon and it was packed with people playing soccer, riding bikes, hand holding, rolling in the grass, eating ice cream... there was even an elderly couple making out on the promenade -- where can you see something like that??
Beautiful place. Beautiful people. Soon... beautiful weather too. Oh! And BEUtiful flowers.
The red poppies are coming!!!!!

OH! P.S.
seven students total in my French class...
And one of them is also from Florida. Well, not only also from Florida, but "Orlando" as well. Lake Mary to be specific.
Don't even start with the odds of that happening.
