After ten hours of overnight bus travel we arrived in the town of Crucita. A small fishing/ tourist town with not another gringo to be seen. We found the paragliding hostel that we had read about in a travel book to be a welcome respite after the bus ride. Luis, the proprietor, and local flying guide set us up in the hostel which had a small pool but more importantly rides up to the launch and some local guidance. After a little nap, since we didnīt sleep much on the bus ride, we jumped in Luisīs truck and headed up to the launch site. It was a beautiful site overlooking the town and the ocean with a well manicured lawn and nice restaurant. However, the restaurant is only open on the weekends...but still a very nice place to watch the paragliding action for Amy. After four flights including one that lasted two hours Amy grew bored as there was not a whole lot to do except watch me fly.
Overall, great site and a nice hostel with very welcoming people. However, if you are not a paraglider or fisherman you may find the town a bit lacking for activities.
