Wanted to go to Liburna Donkey sanctuary, but, they were working on the property today and moved all the donkeys - so, de-tour and we went to Rovinj - a small town in Istria, that Noland and I wanted to see since we were there for few hours 6 years ago
Only about an hour drive from Rijeka, picturesque old city welcomed us. We did a mad scramble to find parking and took off towards the Church of St. Euphemia, a saint whose sarcophag was brought to Rovinj in year 804 and found it's home where it sits today. Beautiful baroque church with majestic works and bell tower. Our girls were amazed by the history of St.Euphemia and the sarcophag.
After the church, we decided to put on our swimsuits and jump in the water - oh, my! Warm! So warm!
The day was windy, and I felt hot swimming and fighting little waves :-)
After the swim, we had pizza and walked around some more and I found myself a nice, hand made, original Murano glass made necklace that reminds me of Adriatic Sea
Drive home and now we are visiting Ilona and her daughter and I'm using her Internet - Thank you!
Until next post - enjoy the pictures!
