Made booking to spend the nigth and luckily we did - 3 hrs+ away from Moab and full by the time we checked in. Had no idea what this area is all about, it was just a sleepover stop but we found ourselfves in the beautiful canyon in Monument Valley. Great RV spot squeezed in between the huge rock walls.
In the morning, we stoped at the museum to find out that this location was a popular spot for filming western movies with John Wayne and many directors, like Ford, used it for movies. Some of the never ones are Forrest Gump, Back to the future.....
Museum is free and has the original living quarters of Goulding family preserved. There is lots of information on how the whole place started up. John Wayne's cabin is also there and a nice gift shop.
Had to hit the road and make it all the way to Lake Powell!!!
I just have one question - does anybody knows what did Laura Bush do in Moab?
