Where I stayed
Woke up to a sunny and beautiful morning - night was not too bad for a lucky find stop :-)
From the start we decided to spend the next night at this RV park, and planned our route that way. First stop - Prarrie Dog town - it is a State park and we visited with prarrie dogs for a little bit. Noland wanted to see Little Bighorn Battlefield, so we headed that way. The drive itself was beautiful - Montana is georgeous! rolling hills, river, ranches and wide open fields. You can see the devostation all over the mountains from the wild fires (from the Sierras all the way to here)
Had lunch in Billings and hit the road again. Then, we discovered this absolute treasure - Big Horn County Historical Museum - this is a MUST! www.museumonthebighorn.org
It is a historic town to put it simple - all the buildings are original historic buildings with a story. The farm house and the barn are on the original site, other buildings were moved there - school, church, store, gas station, train station, etc. It is a fabulous museum!
Next stop was Little Bighorn Battlefield where we decided to drive and explore the site - it is such a somber place and the reallity of what the white people did is so heavy.
It was good to show this to our girls and we hope that they will remember this.
Our RV camp is perfect for Marina - it has horses and a great playground for the kids. Nice place to stay at!
And another beautiful sunset!
