So for those of you who know us, you're not at all surprised that we chose to get married in Las Vegas. Mandi's been planning this for years, long before Terry came along (back when she thought she was going to marry an American).
Then Terry came along and asked if she wanted to hang out in Asia for a year. Sure! Then a year seemed awful expensive...."How's three months sound?" He asked. Sounds perfect.
Well into planning this perfect vacation, Terry popped the question. Mandi said yes. Both mom's said "Why don't you just make Asia your honeymoon?"
"No way, moms" said Mandi. But then she started thinking maybe that wasn't the worst idea in the world. It might actually be a good one. As with most parents' ideas, they couldn't let the moms know that it was a good one, so they started planning to elope in Vegas in secret.
Although just the two of us sounded romantic, the idea came up to invite two people from each family so it was still small & intimate, but there would be guests other than Elvis. Enter Rich, Dena, Lucy & Sarah.
Ever so randomly, Rosa posted on Facebook that she was going to be in Vegas on March 8, at which point she was invited to the wedding.
And so our wedding party was created.
We had a freaking awesome wedding planner, Courtney at Chapel of the Flowers, who did all the dirty work for us, so we just had to show up.
Flew from Nashville to Vegas on March 7, in time to pick up our wedding license from the well hidden Clark County Courthouse (this took us a significant amount of time running around downtown Las Vegas in the rain at night before we could find the freaking place. Our GPS system sucked at life). But we got it! Showed up at 8pm on a Sunday night and there were at least eight other couples there!! I guess I had never really thought of just how many people got married in Vegas before.
Monday morning, a limo from the Chapel picked us up at the hotel at 10am. The ceremony was at 11. For those of you who haven't witnessed the event, you can find it at:

After the ceremony, took a few photos, which will be online next week at that same website, we will let you know when you can see them, but they won't be available until after Terry & I have had our "photo consultation" , which was hard to set up for while we were in Southeast Asia.
Went out to lunch at the Top of the World restaurant in the top of the Stratosphere where we could see the whole strip.
Mom & Dad had to catch a flight back to Nashville after lunch, but Terry, Lucy, Sarah and I played around on the strip, gambling it up for the rest of the day. Mandi won $95 in Keno (highest earnings ever!) Good thing, as this money is badly needed for the honeymoon!
After a fun night out on the town, went back to the hotel for a few hours of sleep before heading out for Hong Kong!
All in all, the wedding was the most fun either of us have a had in a long time. It was exactly what Mandi had always dreamed of (no one ever said she was normal) and Terry had a good time going along with it all.
I hope you have fun watching it!
