Just a quick update today as breakfast isn't too far away. Today we leave the Netherlands and head into Begium to Antwerp...a shorter day on the bike as we will get the guided tour around the streets. One of the guides is an expert on historical architecture and has lots of explanations and stories. Sometimes the brain is too bike weary to take it in.
Yesterday rode 42 k's and really have no desire to beat that. Quite a few hilly bits and plenty of wind. The hills are small, often just slopes but for me and many others they require a leap of faith at the bottom...think of that little train..I think I can, I think I can...... and you will have the picture.
Passed some onion fields yesterday with all the onions out drying off...the smell was quite powerful and got me thinking of some of the other smells....apart from sweaty riders...strong coffee...cigar smoke....salty water....assorted farm smells and the occasional waft of something pleasant as we ride past a garden. Remind me to tell you why I'm glad we didn't call anybody Rosemary when we catch up. Had better go wake John up..a reversal in our family!!
