I am nineteen years old, a junior at Bethany College of Missions in Minneapolis, MN.
Well, so much for school.... but after two years of studying like crazy, the time has finally come to hit the road on little something we call Internship.
Definition: living nine months overseas to experience, explore, learn and survive to come back again.

My whole sophomore year of school was spent preparing for this year... And my chosen country: BRASIL. So you're probably wondering why this entry is labeled PARAGUAY. Well, that where the whole story begins. Two weeks before my departure-- the unthinkable happens...

"What! The Brazilian embassy won't give me my visa?"

Yes, my very words. My internship partner and I had been trying to get our visas for three months. She got hers and I didn't. Lesson number one traveling is never certain. My other thoughts....What is God doing to me? So, amid the many frantic phone calls and emails, my internship director gave me 4 wonderful, unplanned options... I could try for: Thailand, Ajerbazan, Mexico or Paraguay.

My thoughts: - Thailand, weather: nice and tropical
lang: impossible to learn in 9 months
-Azjerbazan, weather: brrr... cold
lang: can you even pronounce the name of this country?
-Mexico, weather: nice and warm
lang. i love Spanish
note: too close to home, let's be a bit more adventuras
-Pargauy, weather: nice, tropical (it will be summer)
language: Spanish
note: now where is this country? close to Brazil...i think we're on to something :)

So, Paraguay it became. I didn't know all the things God had planed for my friend and I, but with perfect faith I knew it was going to be one heck of an adventure...it was already starting off that way. When God's in control when isn't it? Oh, by the way, if you don't believe there is a God...just keep on reading and see. Hehehe
