..............well Costa Rica here we are....once again the added value of travelling in a group is that splitting the  bill on a long distance taxi can work out about the same as all buying bus tickets to three differnt destinations before arriving where you want to go...so from La Frontera (the boarder town with Nica) we once again wheeled and dealed to get a ride in a car directly to Playa Grande.  Not until after we got about the third of the way to the boarder and then someone remembered the buch of hammock chairs that had been left in Johnny G's office so back we went .... it's never straight forward or easy!!!! *grin*

Anyway we finally arrived at dusk and got into my apartment and settled in somewhat....it was good to have some space and the creature comforts of home....ahhh a kitchen...finally somewhere to cook again!...after pretty much 4.5 months of eating every emal out I will be happy to just be able to shop and cook again!

Anyway off we go to find Lindsay at her restaurant/bar Marbar.....so good to see her again...last time was at  a wedding in Jaco around this time last year when I was traveling with mum and dad in Costa Rica! We had dinner at Marbar and the food was fantastic...well done Linds!! :o)

For our few days in Playa Grande we spent them finding our way around my new neighbourhood of beautiful beaches and great chill out spots!  A sunset evening spent at Flammingo Beach's Mar y Sol's upper level lounge area was gorgeous with my appletini which is featured in the photos...plush lounges all facing out over the ocean and then slowly sinking sun was a real treat and I'm sure I will pop out there again very soon!

Playa Grande is a small community on a huge beach with massive waves...I would say it was longer than Seven Mile Beach (which isn't actually seven miles anyway!!)...so beach walks are also the order of the day...just across a small river...which you pay the boatmen $1 to take you across is Tamarindo...which is BUSY...and to me a little Vegaslike with all it's bars and clubs, condos built up etc  (its nothing actually like Vegas but compared to our side of the river this place is a metrolpolis!!)...very very touristy but also where the shops are to buy groceries etc so I will venture there probably once or twice a week to get things....the waves are smaller here so better for people learning how to surf...Grande is for the brave of heart!!!

We had good times just chilling out and cooking dinners eating on the proch and playing lots of cards whilst drinking vino and Sam's blended drinks!!!  We are now getting ready for our road trip to Arenal for 3 nights where we will do the adventours stuff of Costa Rica....

Come on Sam, Emily and Frey in the car (we hired one for 5 days)..and off we go for the next installment of adventure.........Arenal here we come the short way...*grin*
