Well here we are in England we made it after our 12 hour flight from Thailand. Had a 5 hour stop over in Bangkok which went quite quickly not exactly sure what we did in that time. Checking in took about an hour in line...... So many people. For the first time we requested a window seat as this is what we have had in previous flights its been great, not so lucky this time around we got the worst possible seats on the plane if you ask me. Middle 2 seats with people on either sides which meant we couldn't move around much or even get out of our seats as they were sleeping!! Ah well we managed in the end arriving at Heathrow airport around 6am. Getting changed out of our summer clothes into winter we stepped foot out into the rain and cold of about 8 degrees. Very overwhelming!
We have been made to feel very welcome here by uncle Rodney, Auntie Patsy and Darryl, relatives of close family friends. It has been much easier I think than arriving not knowing anyone. Recovering from jet lag we have still managed to do a little bit of shopping and yes pick up some bargains which was quite surprising, as we've been falsely led to believe it was so expensive here. You have to shop outer London to get things cheaper!! Picked up so many clothes those being a pair of Jeans 4 pound, long coat 5 pound (which has come in handy) and lots of other little things and it all only came to 30 pounds we couldn't believe it!!
We hit the town last night with Darryl to a local pub which was great, although apparently that was nothing compared to the city so we will be checking out next week. They really do love to party here!!
Over the last few days we have been around the local area checking out shops and a few sights. We took a drive down to Southall, a little town that is entirely Indian. That's right, it was like stepping out in Calcutta. Saris hanging from shop fronts, Punjabis walking around, and Indian foods stalls surrounding us. We've visited the local IKEA, which is quite popular here, as well as a gigantic wholesale store called Costco. This place has absolutely everything, including massive gourmet baked potatoes for £1.25. Amazing!!!! Finally, on our way home we traveled past the coveted Wembly Stadium. Yes, it still is incomplete, but it is quite a sight to see. It is amazing, and it towers over T.D. Although, it does bear some similar features, not surprising, seeing as it is being built by the same company that built T.D. Tomorrow we head into the big smoke. We can't wait to finally get into London and see what its all about!!

Hi Courtney & Nelson
We've been following your trip so far and it sounds like you are having a great time. What an experience you've had. Loved all the photo's and the elephant ride was obviously a highlight. Nelson we'll have to send you out riding with Michael when you get back he said he'd take you bush bashing you'll be a professional with the traffic you've had to put up with over there. The weather in London sounds a bit chilly but it will only get better. Keep enjoying yourselves and keep us posted. Luv to you both pam & crew.xx
Hi
Hi guys! Travelpod eh? Innovative! I'm at work right now but the clients are not yet banging the door down. Great to hear about bargains and adventures when I'm sitting through litertacy meetings pitched squarely to levels other than mine (gr2) and that run for 2 hours. Keep all the news coming I'll get in touch soon with a proper account of work life. Where's the pub in this school? I've been given a laptop with a ridiculously placed mousepad thingy that means i accidentally tap it from time to time, moving the cursor outside this field - the point is, this has taken me 45 minutes to type. Take care guys - Mike.
