The longest drive ever....

Woke up nice and early and headed off before dawn break...well actually it wasn't but it felt like it to me! Drove to the actual Mount Robson...the highest peak in the rockies...which is quite funny as it isn't really in the rockies at all! Was a way cool mountain though none the less...very impressive...and snowy (yes richard - snow). Then it was on with the driving....drove forever...i slept most of it...hadn't woken up since leaving the site at insane hour! Drove about 200km past lots of villages (apparantly?) then reached a place where we could actually stop! It seemed it was the only place to stop at all...as everyone was there...including loads of tour buses! Sat at a picnic table and ate all our remianing food...a bagel and jam...two bits of corn and a peach for breakfast...then drove on and on and on! Finally reached Kamloops...about another 200km down the road. Was a pretty wierd town. Looked like it was just a place in the middle of everywhere...where all the trading was done! Drove round for ages..trying to find a supermarket...and after a little detour to the local dump....we found one! Bought some pasta, bread and a tin of soup for tea...and then found a wendys for lunch. Wendys was an interesting place...looked like macdonalds in disguise to me...but Neil seemed to like it...and we managed to consume chicken burgers (which they forgot to add the spice to) and fries...then it was on the road again!
I was getting seriously fed up by this point...we had been in the car since 6am and it was now like 2pm...little did i know we weren't there yet! Drove until the highway ran out at Cache Creek, then it was on to some very interesting roads to say the least! We wanted to get to nearly Whistler...before calling it a night...and i thought we were nearly there - wrong!
The road became the most twisty turny road ever...with one lane wooden bridges...switchbacks and hairpins!!! It was a cool drive i guess but i just wanted to get there! there was also the fact that neil was near out of petrol and so was keeping a constant speed, which meant not slowing downb for any corners!!!!
We eventually reached civilisation...a place called mount currie! It turned out to be a first nation reserve and despite the fact that there was a petrol station...Neil would not use it because it looked 'dodgy as 'ell'. Personally it looked okay but what do i know?
Fortunately just round the corner we found Pemberton and millions of petrol stations... but it was just in time...as neil had to fill the tank with 50litres and guess what it only holds 50 litres!
Decided the best place to camp was in the nearest provincial park...so headed out of town and found just what we were looking for.
Made tea...drank beer and went to bed! Im sure we did more than that...but none of it was particulary interesting! Apart from maybe that we were very tired from our mammoth drive...and glad we didn't have much more driving to do!!! Hiring a car is fun though...specially when you don't have to do any of the driving!!!!!
