Since this about my adventures i thought i would tell you about my visit to Colchester. A weekend away to visit Darren who i work with, did i say 'work'.
A three day visit
Day 1 - The FA cup final (all a bit predictable), followed by dinner at the Barn Brasserie, a little bit posh in both its look and it 'small things on a big plate' presentation, but excellent food non the less. I countered this by wearing my classic Batman tee-shirt.
Day 2- Pub lunch, i had the big plate. Trip out to Lavenham to see the village, stopped at the tea shop for afternoon tea, very nice Victoria sponge.
Day 3 - Colchester Zoo, fantastic day out. Haven't been to Colchester Zoo since i was about 10, its changed a bit, nice enclosures, a good trail taking you past all the exhibits and so very educational elements. I fed an elephant, watched penguins and sea-lions swimming under water and had pizza for lunch. Darren rolled his eyes when i purchased a digeridoo from the ethical gift shop, but he did agree that it was a 'Neil type purchase'. He also stated the he hadnt seen anyone as excited as me to be at a Zoo, which was indeed true.
