You know the romance on your honeymoon has hit an all time low when you both pee in the sink in your room rather than making the 100 yard dash to the toilets in the middle of the night to avoid coming across a bear...

Speaking of bears, we saw a black bear this morning but as usual it was miles away.

Decided to do the Going to the Sun Road ( 50 miles) today which runs across the width of the park as we are staying on the west side tonight at Lake McDonald. It is meant to be one of the most scenic drives in the world so we were looking forward to it. Unfortunately we woke up to thick cloud and rain - not ideal for doing the drive but we had no choice! We did it without stopping since visibility was so poor but could tell how impressive it would be if it was nice weather as you literally hug the mountainside the whole way across.

Checked into our hostel at Lake McDonald which is by far the nicest hostel we have stayed in yet. It's brand new and the bathrooms are spotless with lovely showers. This afternoon the sun came out so we decided to go back and do a bit of the Going to the Sun Road again. The scenery was spectacular this time and we stopped to do two trails - the Trail of the Cedars and a hike to Hidden Lake - both lovely however Pete insisted on singing 'The hills are alive with the sound of music' all the way down which ruined it a bit.

Then back to the hostel to relax and cook dinner. We have decided to leave Glacier tomorrow (2 days early) and start making our way over to Seattle - we are done with hiking and national parks for now and both craving some city life for a bit.
