And so, all too quickly, my time in America is at an end.
I left San Francisco lunchtime Monday, and arrived home Tuesday afternoon.
But the journey was not without incident, from a touch of turbulence (which concluded with me pouring apple juice all over myself), to another dodgy personal entertainment system - I managed to watch the first ten minutes of a dozen movies, but every time things started getting interesting the little box of tricks switched off and reset itself. Brilliant.
From the plane, to the train then - which was predictably delayed (aren't they all?!) and then finally home, and to some surprisingly good weather.
But the return journey is not what this final entry should be all about. At least, I don't want it to be, because that means I have to admit this trip is over. Done. Complete. And I'm not ready for that quite yet.
As I sit here now, having travelled thousands of miles over the last two weeks I can't help thinking about all that I've seen and done. The amazing experiences, the unbelievable views, the sheer fun of it all. I know holidays are only supposed to be temporary, but the memories stick around forever.
I'm pleased that I wrote this travel blog, it's been great. But it would've been only half as good without you folks reading it and commenting, and letting me know that it wasn't a total waste of anyone's time.
So, this then is goodbye. The Great American Adventure of 2012 is over, but I'll leave you all with one question: Where Next?

If you had a good time in usa ,and it sounds like you did,try NZ
Where next? As long as you go somewhere, blog and take photographs, I'll be delighted. I'm glad your trip went so well. It was enjoyable to read about it, although I was filled with envy as those were all places I'd like to visit.
If I may insert a self-serving suggestion, though, since I'll never be able to afford to go myself, I second the suggestion to visit New Zealand - especially if you visit Hobbit/LOTR locations :-D
I am glad you enjoyed your time here, it was great seeing the places I know and love through your eyes, and a few that were new to me as well. I agree with the above comments, New Zealand! But do this blog again and take photos. :)
New Zealand! I've wanted to go there for as long as I can remember. It is very tempting. Very tempting indeed.
But then, so is Europe, China, South America, India, and an African Safari. There's just so much to see and do in this world.
But yes, New Zealand is very much top of the list, as to whether that's where I go next... I don't know. We'll see.
