i got to lake bled a
little later than expected cause someone moved all the clocks forward
an hour without telling me so it was about 12:30 by the time i made
it to the hostel. there was no one there so i left my bags in the bar
down stairs and went exploring. i found a sign to the castle pointing
up a steep hill so i did i bit of bush walking and came out at the
carpark.the view from the castle was amazing, its perched on top of a
cliff 100m above the lake and has 360 degree views over the
countryside and town. i paid to go inside to get an even better view
and go into the museum, wine seller and castle printery. i scaled
down another path to get to the lake and after finding some lunch i
headed off on the 90 minute walk around the lake. i lost the photos
from the fist half of it but i think i took enough photos from the
other sides to make up for it! i decided not to catch one of the
traditional gondola-ish boats out to the church on the island and
just kept walking. it ended up taking a few hours cause i kept
stopping to enjoy the view and the sun. i headed back to the hostel
around 5:30 and there was still no one there so i went back out to
get dinner and ate by the lake until the sunset. i went back to the
hostel again at 7 and there was still no one there and no answer on
the phone, fortunately there was another hostel attached to the bar
downstairs so i stayed there instead. the hostel i booked won't be
getting a good review!
