when i went back to stay with corrie and wolfert they also had their grand daughter, renee, staying with them. in the morning we drove to volendam, a small seaside town north of amsterdam. their main draw card is that they're a traditional fishing village and a lot of the shops along the harbour do photos in traditional dress. so we all got dressed up in pretty dutch clothes and clogs and got our photo taken! after that we went to a floating castle museum, which was a little bit creepy! the harbour had frozen a couple of weeks before and there were huge icebergs stacked up along the shore, it was really amazing. renee asked if the penguins were coming! after a quick lunch we headed back to ijslestein to drop off renee. her mum, corrie and wolfert's daughter, happened to be a computer programer and she spent some time trying to fix my computer so it turns on now!
