carla and i went for a big drive around the country side on a nice chilly day! we first went to kinderdyke where there was a group of about 18 windmills along a canal, a few of them were working but none were open cause it was winter. got some good dutch photos then headed to rotterdam. we went to the cube houses. a famous housing development of diamond shapped houses, it was very confusing how you could pssibly live in a diamond shaped building but fortunately one of them had been turned into a museum so we we went inside to check it out. it was surprisingly spacious, you just had to have low furniture! we stopped for morning tea (which turned out to be lunch) and the new yorker hotel where most of the passenger ships used to leave from back in the day. then we did a big drive out to the sea dykes in zeeland, it was pretty impressive, especially driving accross them. we went to the hauge and had a walk around the city, saw the royal palace and the government buildings (which as of the night before no longer had a government to use them!) then we drove home via corpus - a human body museum shaped like a human body, it was amazing! after a delicous cheese fondue dinner carla and i rode to her mother's house and looked through all the photos and news paper clippings oma had sent her over the years. saw some fantastic dresses and aweful hair dos!
