when we flew into an airport outside stockholm rachael bumped into a guy she went to uni with in lund so we dumped our stuff at our uber cool hostel (more on that later) and went out to dinner. apparently it was pay day so it was really busy. it was quite cold, like everywhere else in europe aparently! the ice onthe side walks was at least 5cm thick, it became really slippery when the snow melted and it was exposed, i managed not to fall over though! the hostel we stayed in was an old sailing boat and it was surprisingly spacious! we had to cross a bridge to get on board, the floor was slopey and we had 2 portholes in our room, it was awesome! the next day we decided to be really architectural and head out to a cemetery that was designed by a couple of famous architects. it was really beautiful especially covered in so much snow. we had dunch (dinner/lunch) at the train station and then rachael left to go back to lund for a week before flying home. it was quite wierd being alone for the first time in 6 weeks! the next day i roamed around the city, went to the city library designed by the same architect as the cemetery. alana arrived at 4pm, we did some shoe shopping, grocery shopping, had dinner at an all you can eat asian buffet (fantastic) then hit the deck (ship version of hay) before getting up bright and early for our flight to kiruna
