Where I stayed
We left skye early enough to watch the sunrise of the other side of eilan donan castle so we had a quick photo stop and got back on the bus... -12 inside, possibly slightly less cold outside the bus! We drove back through the same mountains as the day before in more beautiful weather, this time we stopped at loch garry, also called scotland's loch because it looks like a map of Scotland, just a fun fact! Next stop was at glenfinnan where there was a big loch, a monument to some famous guy but most importantly... the harry potter bridge! Its the one in the 2nd movie that the train goes across and there’s the flying car, it was probably the highlight of the trip for almost half the people on the bus! We went to fort William for lunch, ate at the most delightful little cafe in the super market. 6 of us got together to buy supplies for a big dinner sized cheese platter, it was a bit exciting. After lunch we went to inverlochy castle, had a bit of a play on a tire swing then explored the ruins. We had a quick stop in a big valley where braveheart was filmed at the base of ben nevis then headed to the bay side town of oban where our hostel was for the night. I was supposed to be sharing a room with 7 other girls but no one could open or unlock the door so 5 of us got moved to a different, bigger room, so we stole the other cheese platter girl from her room and had the whole place to ourselves, it was grand!
