Today we decided to go to church. so after a very nice breakfast at queen of tarts (award winning patisserie) we (me, alana, sabine & peter - jen and shankari bailed) headed for st patricks cathedral - the largest church in ireland - for the 11:15 choral mass. we got there and found out it was actually an anglican church which was a bit shocking since the republic of ireland is about 85% roman catholic. alana asked if it had always been anglican... the lady at the door promptly replied "since 1536"! we decided to go in anyway, it was a really nice service, pretty similar to catholic, the choir was amazing, the priest gave me a dirty look when i declined the wine cause its not like in a catholic church where you walk to the 2 people with the bread and wine, instead you kneel down in a line and the priest brings it to you, little bit awkward! after that alana and i headed to henry street to buy some chirstmas decoration cause our tree was looking a little bare! we saw 2 santas (one on a horse drawn sleigh), 1 gospel choir and ALOT of christmas lights hanging in the street, we have to go back one night to see them all lit up. there was an australia v ireland rugby game on so alana went to the aussie pub to watch that with jen and shankari and i went to st stephens green to study the structure of a building for my assignment, joy!
