Alaska oh Alaska how I yearn to leave your frozen shores and return to my adopted home of palm trees, sand and little brown girls running hither and yon.  Your waters are too cold and your air too crisp.  The clouds in your sky constantly leak a cold drizzle upon my stooped head as I endlessly walk to work.  The smell of halibut that wafts upon your breeze is enough to cause my stomach to heave and a tear to fall from my eye.  On Alaska, how you are a cantankerous sore upon the ass of my existence that shall be lanced in 53 days.

Man my poetry is really starting to come along I think.  Definitely some great visualizations that I threw in there.  Anyway, life is trudging along over here in the great north woods.  I think that this is one of the coldest summers in a long time up here. I've talked to a lot of locals who are saying that this is one particularly sucky summer on the weather front.  It almost makes me glad that I am in the kitchen for 15 hours per day.  The kitchen existence is pretty mundane other than some absolutely spectacular burns that I have put down upon myself as of late. I haven't cut myself nearly as much as I usually do this year but on the burn front I'm way above par which kinda sucks.  I'm not a big fan of burning a hole in my arm with boiling oil but I am consistently doing it....fucking kitchen.

There is this girl who works with me who just constantly drives all over Alaska on her one or two days off to go see the sights.  Well this past week our days off coincided so we decide to go for this hike over in this town called "hope".  I was expecting a nice little 2 or 3 mile hike to a little overlook or something but when it was all said and done I ended up walking like 10 miles which is a lot but that's not the funny part.  The funny part is that almost exactly halfway into this hike, my god damn footwear gave up the ghost and decided to fall apart right there on the spot.  Well what the hell to do?  I really had no choice other than to just keep on trucking and walk 5 miles completely barefoot through the Alaskan wilderness.  You know I always say that I like hiking and trekking and shit like that but whenever I go out and do these activities it seems that I almost die or something goes horribly wrong every single time I go out.  Maybe it's time to take up a safer hobby like UN peacekeeper or something.

Ninny is doing good other then growing more impatient as the days wear on.  I mean she calls me every single day from Thailand and we talk about just our daily lives and shit like that. It's pretty cool but is kind of mind blowing.  I'm pretty sure I'm not going to meet someone who loves me as much as she does so that leaves me asking myself some pretty big questions.  On the good news front, She has gotten on job at a nice hotel down on ko tao again and is waiting for me to come back.  She was going to work in Bangkok but would have ended up leaving the job when I came back in September so when this resort called her she jumped on the chance which is good.

The sister arrives in a few days to do a rest and relaxation vacation up here.  I'll have about 1 day to hang out with her since I work every other day of the week but that's ok.  People need to understand that my money making window is very short and I have to take advantage of every opportunity to pull in some bucks.  I'll definitely give her some ideas for hikes and places to go but I will undoubtedly be in a kitchen while she is doing all of these activities.

The light at the end of the tunnel has made its first appearance and although it is weak and barely visible it is still there all the same.  This summer has gone by so fast it's not even funny. I'm not sure if it's because of my drama with dumb ass (ex gf) or if it's ninny calling me every night after work and lifting my spirits...or maybe I'm just used to this crap....who knows?  Either way this summer is flying by and I can't wait to get off the plane in Thailand and just SWEAT lol.  It's funny because in march and April I was saying how I can't wait to get to Alaska so I can STOP sweating and now it seems so appealing lol.

I'm not completely sure if this post is coherent or not.  I've reached that wonderful point where I come home and pass out almost immediately.  I have managed to stay awake for the last 30 minutes to type this thing out. If it doesn't make sense I apologize.
