sorry i havent written in a bit...to be honest ive just really settled down into a routine here on ko tao and am living what is almost a normal life. i go diving 2-4 times a day and believe it or not my legs are so friggin tired i can barely walk. most of my dives now are "training assists" where i act as an assistant for the instructors teaching people how to dive. this is even more tiring because these people have no control over their buoyoncy and go shooting towards the surface which is very very bad and i have to go and catch them and literall push them back down to 12-16 meters. doesnt sound too bad but you do this 6 or 7 times per dive and you get exhausted. it seems like every time i turn my head someone goes shooting up....i need to just go on a fun dive by myself a few times to relax but at the moment we are getting pounded by the outer wall of the typhoon that is hitting vietnam....its been pouring here all night and all day and the ocean is absolutely shit for visibility right now so i dont even want to get in the water lol.

ive been having a good time here though, there are 3 other people doing their dmt here with me (divemaster training) and we all hang out together but one is finishing tomorrow and the other 2 will be gone after christmas so that leaves me. when you all get a chance you should come on out so i can take you diving....good times for sure! i saw a whale shark a week ago which is a monumental occasion here. people have been living here 2 or 3 years without seeing one and they are super upset that i was here 2 weeks and got to check one out. it was pretty funny because once it was confirmed there was a whale shark down there, everyone just went flying into the water. i think i actually took a running jump off the friggin boat myself. for those of you who arent in the know.....whale sharks are the biggest fish in the world and get up to 60-70 feet long...this one was just a baby of about 16 feet but still very cool.

on the girlfriend front im still all by myself and its getting to be a bit of a downer but oh well what can you do? we all make sacrifices to do what we love i suppose.

and I'm looking out at a foot of snow
I still don't understand the level of danger these creatures pose. It seems it would be high.

As someone who values physical fitness I must say, 'Good job Neil!' You must be in great cardiovascular as well as muscular shape.

Do you think you will find a nother cute oriental girl pretty quickly?

Wet Wet Wet
Wet and Windy here in Cornwall, UK, but.......we have basking sharks here every summer, and a pod of dolphins just outside our kitchen in the harbour - is that impressive??
