hey everyone this is my new and improved weblog. i thought i would try and upgrade my log experience so here i am. just in case you hate it, im gonna try and keep my other blog up to date also so you can have the best of both worlds i suppose. tell me what you think of the new site!

on my last full weekend in alaska me and a couple of friends went over to seward and went up to the exit glacier. to see that wall of blue ice was something spectacular and of course i had to go behind the rope to go and touch the damn thing and get some pictures taken annnnnnd to get yelled at by the park ranger. man was she pissed! the whole "death from falling ice" thing is over rated i believe and the rangers are just cranky from a whole summer of dealing with people. the day was beautiful and the ice was amazing and we even got to see a black bear trudging down the river bank, so all in all it was a pretty damn good day if i do say so myself.

after my ice experience, i had one more week of work and it really dragged by. nothing like a looming 9 month vacation to make time stand still you know? when it finally got time to leave i was a bit sad to leave a bunch of friends that i had made over the summer. they are all such nice people and we had a pretty good time under the circumstances but alas it was time to get back out on the road so here i am in chicago visting the family and then off to thailand in a few weeks. here i go again
