as you may have noticed ive been puttering around with the old blog, figured id give it a new look for its upcoming one year anniversary (dear god). for whatever reason i have started getting spam messages to my comments board so i have added an extra step to posting a comment that is supposed to prevent this annoyance and hopefully wont cause you guys any more grief. also, im trying to figure out how to put a few pictures on the page so you can see my smiling face. keep your fingers crossed on that one. this concludes the technical aspect of todays posting.

oh kathmandu i love you, pretty little kathamndu (insert peggy sue music please). im still here and im probably not leaving for another 3 days or so. im really just waiting for saturday (tomorrow) so i can watch all the animal sacrifices in durbar square. how can you visit hindu countries and not check out the blood bath?

under the category of takes a little getting used to: when admiring the temples and carvings you begin to notice extremely graphic and profane sexual acts going on in the little carvings (usually at the base of the roof struts). i know these people are the ones who wrote the kama sutra but its a whole other matter to be confronted with a contortionists view of group sex while touring a temple.

things seen: on the back of a mini truck stood a cow and it was paraded through the streets with people coming and touching it like a holy object and throwing money at it for some reason. cow, hindu ok i get it i get it. but upon further inspection, or reasonable scrutiny i came to realize the thing had a 5th leg growing off the top of its neck which apparantly makes it even more holy then the other cows.

the plans as of today are...taking mountain flight over everest in a day or two and then going rafting for 2 days. only in nepal would they allow you to raft a class IV and V rapid on your first day so you all better start praying. after that im going to the town of pokhara and probably do a 4-5 day trek from there. nothing too crazy or strenuous but coming to nepal and not treking is like going to vegas and not gambling.....wtf is the point?
