so i took a longtail boat out to a quasi secluded beach. the boats bring people there during the day and then everyone leaves before sundown.....except me who pitched a tent about 10 feet from the water. the crabs come out at night and tried to take me down a few times but i fought them back admirably. there was a coral reef about 50 yards off the beach so i could just walk into the water and swim out to it.....absolutely beautiful. the only problem with snorkeling is getting sunburned like crazy as u swim for hours on end. the burn is right where my backpack rests so it hurts like hell. the sunsets on the beach are amazing..........not sure if its purely the sun or just the fact taht im all alone and stuff.......they are beautiful though. at night the crab fisherman park off shore about 20 or 30 feet and ply their trade so im not completely by myself. right after sunset u can lay back and watch flocks of these huge bats fly across the bay towards the main land. when they fly across the moon they cast quick moving shadows across the sand........so much wildlife between the reef and jungle....hornbilled tucans and monkeys and crabs.....i just sit on the beach and watch the fun. the boat ride back was exciting since the waves were choppy and the boats are questionable at best sometimes.........he stopped about halfway to the mainland and gave us life jackets then kept going.....fun fun. so now one night in the mainland then off to ko phi phi which was supposed to be hit pretty hard by the tsunami.........we'll see
