first and foremost let me tell you how tired i am of taking 14 and 15 hour bus rides through the thai countryside. they're nice buses but for the love of god ive done them enough already. the only good thing to come out of it is that im able to sleep absolutely anywhere.... and for 15 hours at a time. I ended up in krabi finally and am at a sweet beach. my bungalow is quite rustic, with the mosquito net and everything. it seems to keep all the mosquitos inside with me instead of the other way around, i need to perfect that somehow. Im in the middle of the best scenery yet. cliffs just popping up out of the ocean and forming islands that consist solely of a shear vertical face rising a couple hundred meters into the sky. the water is crystal clear and full of fish but is not blue but instead an emerald green. the place im at has 4 distinct beaches all seperate but interconnected by paths. im staying on the cheapest of course but its still so nice. my beach is also the rock climbers winter hangout.......they travel from all over the world to climb up the sheer faces of the surrounding mountains...i can eat breakfast and watch someone fall halfway down a mountain.........definitely entertaining.....just to head off the question.......no i am not rock climbing. i am built for a lot of things, knocking over small cars or playing nose tackle for cleveland browns.........climbing up mountains is not one of them sorry. the food here is great since seafood is in great abundance and was usually pulled kicking and screaming out of the ocean just a few hours before. they can make anything with shrimp in it...ah joy. went to one of the adjoining beaches yesterday and there is a resident troop of monkeys that live there. about 50 in all they are very entertaining........we were watching one try and sneak into a kitchen window of one of the restaurants......it got in and then came flying out like a bat out of hell a minute later....along with 5 or 6 more that had already been in there.....quite funny. i was talking to a thai guy who runs a dive shop about the tsunami. amazing to hear the story and be able to look out on the ocean and see where it happened. the strange thing is he says that not only is the ocean still churned up from it but the weather has seemed to change.........the winds come out of a direction that they normally dont come out of and the water gets choppier......and this is two months later. im still having myself a good time and the scenery couldn't get much better.......there are a few things i would like to see back home.....my friend adams wedding, bonnaroo, the bears on tv.....and maybe a lou's pizza in the fridge but i suppose sacrifices are to be made. im there is spirit if not in person....so now my plan is to strand myslef on a group of islands about a mile off the coast. the snorkel boats go out there every day so its not like ill be totally alone or anything but it should be cool to camp and get away for a few days... hope all is well back in the states........talk to u all soon
